What can we help you with?

Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) Motorcycle Insurance

Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) motorcycle insurance is meant for bike riders who would like to be covered with a little more protection than the basic TPO, which is the minimum coverage required legally in Singapore.

What does Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) cover you for?

DirectAsia’s Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) motorcycle insurance covers you for any damage or injury sustained by the other rider or their vehicle when riding in Singapore. It also covers you for theft or if your bike is destroyed in a fire.

What optional benefits are available to me?

  • Every rider has a different set of priorities. You have the liberty of adding the following extra optional benefits to your existing TPFT plan according to your needs.

NCD Protector Plus

With the No Claim Discount (NCD), you are eligible for a discount on your premiums at the time of renewal if you make no claims during your insurance period. With DirectAsia’s NCD Protector Plus scheme, you will be able to keep your NCD status if you’ve met in an accident and even if the fault happens to be yours.

24-Hour Breakdown Assistance

In the event that your motorbike breaks down, we’ll send you roadside assistance, no matter the day or time.

Any Rider

This optional benefit allows you to share your TPFT motorcycle insurance policy with an unnamed authorised rider who is between the ages of 25-65 and has had two years of experience riding. They also should not have met with any accidents for three years and not be suspended from driving.

Personal Accident

Be assured knowing that you will be compensated up to S$100,000 for death and/or loss of sight or limbs if you meet with an unfortunate accident while riding.

Medical Expenses

You can be assured knowing you’re financially covered for medical expenses. If injured while riding, you can receive up to S$2,500 to pay for medical expenses.

Frequently Asked Questions about Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT)

What is the difference between Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) motorcycle insurance and other motorcycle policies?

TPFT covers riders in the event your motorcycle is stolen or damaged by a fire, which is more than what TPO motorcycle insurance provides. However, it is still not as extensive as the comprehensive (COMP) plan, and so does not cover you if your bike is damaged in a flood or a natural disaster.

When should you purchase Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) motorcycle insurance?

TPFT is the best plan for you if you would like to be covered for major losses that could incur significant damage or financial cost like if your bike is lost or destroyed in fire.

How much does Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) motorcycle insurance cover me for?

The policy will cover you up to the market value of your vehicle if your vehicle is declared a total loss in an accident or stolen. If your vehicle is stolen outside of Singapore, an additional excess of 50% of the market value at the time of incident capped at a maximum of $2,000 applies.
