Launch of Drive to Zero Accidents Campaign Event

Last night, Wednesday the 29th October, 2014 we were proud to launch the new Drive to Zero Accidents Campaign. A collaboration between DirectAsia.com, the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Road Safety Council.

The event was held underneath the city’s biggest zero – the Singapore Flyer. Guests were treated to stunning views of the city skyline and a sneak preview of the new TV commercial.

Guests were welcomed by Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Social and Family Development & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Mayor, South West District. Ms Low Yen Ling spoke on road safety and encouraged all Singapore drivers to pledge their commitment towards zero accidents for 2015 and beyond.

After speaking to the crowd, representatives of the Singapore Police Force together with Ms Low Yen Ling and Simon Birch recognized a group of selected conscientious motorists who had been flagged by the Singapore Police Force for exceptional driving. Then it was time for the first public viewing of the new Drive to Zero Accidents campaign video followed by a behind the scenes video with messages from our own Simon Birch about the meaning and hopes behind the campaign.

The event finished with a “ride out” of motorcyclists, motorists, taxis, and more all representing the various vehicles driving in Singapore as the Flyer was lit up.

At DirectAsia.com we’re always trying to find ways to help improve road safety on Singapore roads, and the Drive to Zero Accidents collaborative campaign is one we’re extremely proud to be a part of. Zero accidents is a noble goal to strive for and we hope many will join with us to encourage safer roads for all of Singapore.
