Optional My Accessories - Car Accessories Coverage
“My Accessories” is a car accessories insurance Optional Benefit that you can leverage to customise and craft an ideal car insurance policy with DirectAsia. Available for drivers and passengers, this optional benefit ensures that you are covered when it comes to the cost of replacing or repairing declared electrical accessories that were stolen or damaged. This insurance add-on is only available under 2 car insurance plans (Comprehensive and Third Party Fire and Theft), and guarantees that your policy protects you from unfortunate events that might have harmed the car accessories you have invested in.
If you would like to prevent instances of having to fork out large sums of money to repurchase or modify your expensive car accessories, you can consider opting for the “My Accessories” car accessories insurance add-on on top of your standard cover plan.
Getting Car Accessories Coverage in Singapore
We currently offer the “My Accessories” add-on in car insurance for your electrical accessories as an Optional Benefit for Comprehensive (COMP) and Third-Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) car insurance cover types.
All car accessories you are planning to insure have to be LTA compliant if you add the “My Accessories” optional benefit to enhance your chosen cover type. The list of car accessories that can be insured with us include:
- Air intake or exhaust system
- Body kit
- Car camera
- In-vehicle entertainment system
- Rims and tyres
- Solar film
- Suspension and stabiliser system
Car accessories selected can be insured for a maximum sum ranging from SGD1,000 to SGD5,000, and a receipt to prove the sum insured under your policy will not be necessary. Even if your car and/or accessories have been modified, DirectAsia will still cover them under this Optional Benefit. However, do note that additional premiums may apply to certain electrical accessories such as your car camera.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the modifications of my car accessories affect the validity of my policy?
Your policy with DirectAsia Singapore will remain valid even if modifications are done to your car. Modifying your air intake, exhaust system, body kits, rims, tyres, suspension, or stabiliser system will not affect the validity of your policy or your ability to be covered under the Optional Benefit, so long as the modifications are LTA compliant. However, an additional premium might apply to modifications of other accessories - refer to our Cover & Options FAQ page for more information.

What documents are required to make a claim?
To make a claim for the cost of replacing or repairing declared accessories, several supporting documents are required. For one, a copy of the SAS Accident report and Certificate of Insurance must be provided. Accident reporting will be done at our authorised workshops, where you will be able to make a claim under your car insurance policy.
