What is an Offence Free Discount?

Your Certificate of Merit (COM) from the Traffic Police entitles you to an offence free discount over and above your NCD. You may check your eligibility here. At DirectAsia we reward safe drivers.

I've been a named driver on someone else's insurance, can I still get a NCD?

If you have been a named driver on someone else's insurance, you are not entitled to any NCD.

But if you have been driving a company car and you then buy a personal car, you would be allowed to transfer the NCD provided you can show the number of claims' free years you have with a letter from the HR department of your employer or from the leasing company.

Can I protect my No Claim Discount (NCD)?

If you select NCD Protector Plus under our optional benefits then we will protect your No Claim Discount (NCD) when you make up to one claim under your policy and if you renew with us. Only applicable for NCD30, NCD40, NCD50 and NCD60 only.

What is a No Claim Discount (NCD)?

No Claim Discount is a discount that we offer you on your renewal premium if there are no claims on your policy during the current period of insurance. You may still be entitled to a No Claim Discount even if you have made a claim, provided you are not liable for the accident and that you have been insured with us for the past 12 months. Here's more details on NCD and who is eligible.

My NCD went up by 10% and I have had no claims in the past year. So why has my car insurance premium increased?

There are a number of factors involved in pricing premiums. Firstly, there may be an increase in claims for your car make and model, which will lead to higher premiums. The higher price may also be driven by inflation. For example, increased repair costs, legal fees and medical costs means increased insurance premiums to keep up with these costs in general.

What is NCD60?

NCD60 is a fantastic innovation to give even more savings to the safest drivers in Singapore.

Drivers who have held NCD50 status for at least the last five (5) consecutive years will get an additional 10% discount on their car insurance base premium, only at DirectAsia!

This applies to existing and new customers of DirectAsia, the first and only insurer in Singapore to launch this innovation in the market. No other insurer in Singapore offers this great benefit to great drivers.

What do I need to do to enjoy NCD60?

Continue to drive safely, do your best to avoid accidents and tell us if you have benefitted from NCD50 status for at least the last five (5) consecutive years. That's it!

This discount is awarded automatically for qualifying customers when you buy or renew your insurance with DirectAsia. For existing customers, the discount will apply on your next renewal; just call us to let us know – it's another great reason to stay with us.

Can I protect my NCD60 status?

DirectAsia offers NCD60 customers the opportunity to protect their NCD status through the purchase of NCD Protector Plus for a nominal fee. This way, even if you have a claim, the NCD Protector Plus will maintain your NCD level the following year.

It’s worth remembering that DirectAsia will honour your protected NCD status with your current insurer if you've had a claim – other insurers don't!

Can I keep my NCD60 for life?

To an extent. Like with NCD50, if you have qualified for NCD60, you can protect your NCD60 status by purchasing the optional benefit NCD Protector Plus which protects your NCD status against one (1) claim during the policy period.

How does this differ from other insurers offering 'for life' NCD?

NCD60 offers an immediate discount for the safest drivers. Under other 'for life' NCD schemes, safe drivers only see the benefit in the event that they have a claim. We believe that NCD60 is much fairer, more rewarding and transparent: safer drivers save more with DirectAsia!

What is NCD Protector Plus? How does it work?
